WALTHAM BUTTERNUT ? OP

Butternut. Matures in 85 - 115 days. The most common of the butternut varieties. It boasts regular & uniform shape with few "crooknecks". Good quality flesh with a medium texture & bright orange colour. The fruit is 20 - 30 cm long X 8 - 12 cm wide with a smooth, tan coloured skin weighing between 1.5 - 3 kg. The seed cavity is small with the flesh a rich, dry yellow/orange colour & a distinctive, pleasant nutty taste. The vines are vigorous producing high yields of good quality fruit that store well. This is considered a timeless industry "standard" & a proven, dependable performer
